Help with Canon ST-E2 and Sekonic

Can I use the Canon ST-E2 in conjunction with a Sekonic L-358 to trigger a Canon 430EX remotely - 430EX will be in manual mode?

Will this work - Set Sekonic for wireless flashmetering, hold both Sekonic and ST-E2 in hands, press test button on ST-E2 to take flashmeter reading?

I do not have the ST-E2, but would consider purchasing if it would allow me to use Sekonic L-358 wirelessly (along with its usual uses).
