I got my 1DIIn about 3 months ago and I love it.

About a month ago I was out and the battery level on the camera was showing low. To save energy I turned the camera off until I wanted to shoot again.

When I turned the camers back on the battery level was showing full charge. This happened several times during that day.
When I got home I drained and recharged the battery.
This happened again last night.
Has anyone heard of this happening and why?
I had only taken about 300 shots between each occurance.
