K100D speed

K100d Start up - by the time it is on eye level it will be ready

focus speed is quite fine, and by the reports of people who had Nikons and K100D's on Pentax forums focusing is on par, perhaps slightly slower, but only slightly... this is not the *ist series anymore, focusing has improved a lot since.

cont shooting, 5 frames at 3FPS and than continious at 1.2 FPS, while not 2.5 FPS of D40 continous, it is not like you cannot do it if you want a sequence of something... in general use as long as you "prepare" next shot and keep on pressing the shutter yourself K100D is responsive enough. If you want to "machine gun" than I guess a higher model cam is in order, that much about the weak points... I think testing the focus, startup speed with the kit lens is easiest in store, go, try and see for yourself.
