LI-ION Battery Use
Nov 17, 2006

Three questions regarding use of the LI-ION battery for the FZ50:
1. According to an article in Wikipedia.com, Li-I batteries should never be discharged to zero. Does anyone know if there is protection built into the logic of the camera so that when it shows the battery as discharged there is still some charge left? Or should, the battery be removed and re-charged when the camera still shows some charge left?
2. I bought a spare battery and plan to use the two batteries alternately, recharging one right after placing the second in the camera? Is this a good approach to preserving the life of the batteries?
3. The Wikipedia article says that batteries should be stored at a level of about 40% of full charge. Does anyone have an idea of what time is considered "storage" as opposed to normal use? For example, if a battery is not used for a week is it "stored"? How about a month", etc?
Thanks,
