B9180: composite grey or grey inks only?
Nov 15, 2006

Neil recommends to use grey inks only.

But greys tonalities are richer with composite inks than grey inks only. Greys inks only gives a more contrasted image, sometimes more pleasant but with less grey shades. Composite greys doesn't appear to have color shift (maybe light light magenta) on Hahnemulhe PR.
Pro and cons?

The Photoshop print plugin doesn't seem to give the choice between composite grey and grey ink only (only "BW" option). Am I right?

Qimage seems to give a sharper image, but I'm not sure it's different than "accentuation" filter in Photoshop. Maybe advantage is more obvious in large prints with low DPI image?

By the way I just received my "welcome pack": 24 A3+ sheets of advanced glossy, smooth fine art, watercolor and canvas. Great !!!!

I'm very pleased with this printed which works perfectly.
Thanx for your input.
