Black paint coming off 30D Hotshoe

The black paint on the hotshoe for my 30D is scratching off. Can anyone suggest some good black paint to appy to the top of the hotshoe. I assume some form of metalic model paint would be okay?
Obviously i would not place any paint on the contacts
