Fuji S7000 CCD (Purple Sensor) Issues?

For anyone who's now just experiencing CCD sensor issues with your Fuji, or possibly another digital camera, this link may be of great interest to you.

Affected cameras were all manufactured between 2002 and 2004. he symptoms are captured images that appear completely black, have a purplish cast or multi- colored distortions. These symptoms would be seen on the camera LCD monitor when the camera is in the shooting mode or during playback. A limited number of these models will have these problems. The following list of serial numbers and model names may be affected:

Currently my S7000 CCD sensor is flaking out with purple wavy gravy images...granted it's only like 5 out of 126 currently. However I'll be calling the Edision NJ repair center on Monday to arrange to have it repaired. Since Fuji has been aware of this issue, if true to their word & from what I understand they'll repair it at no cost. I hope this is of help to some of you.
