Sensor cleaning - is it really that critical ?
Oct 12, 2006

Although I'm about to move to a 5D, I've had a D60 for about four and a half years which is in near constant use for portraits, corporate events, landscapes, etc. I've never cleaned the sensor ! I wouldn't dare. I read a lot here about it, varying from it being a hyper critical daily/weekly/hourly operation to a highly personal option. No doubt my sensor has accumulated a goodly layer of muck over the years. It doesn't seem to make any critical difference to the end results. None of my clients or subjects has ever looked at a image or a print and rejected it for sensor dirt.
