BIG Problem with AlienBee Ringflash

Mr. Buff I figured I'd express this here rather than in other forums so that you can respond and remedy the problem quickly. I got my ringflash today. I use a Canon 20D and a Canon 24-70 mm lens. When the zoom is at the 24mm end I get TREMENDOUS flair.--like I am shooting through fog. The flair is there all the way up to the 70mm range--where it is finallly gone. Taking into account the multiplication sensor factor this means you cant shoot with any zoom less than 100mm using this ringflash!! I was VERY, VERY disappointed and couldnt believe this was happening. I realize this is a beta copy and there would be problems, but I didnt think the problems would be so bad as to make the light unusable in most of my studio/fashion situations. The 24-70 mm is my workhorse lense!! I have scheduled 3 shoots with this light over the next two days and I was heartsick. I figured I was going to have to go out and rent some Profotos. I know, stupid to schedule important jobs and to use a beta product, but I believed in your products.

Well I called Alienbee customer support for help--they said they were aware of the problem and it is being worked on!!

I was desperate!!

Mr. Buff I have uncovered a solution which would save others from such grief and would minimize your retooling to fix this problem or even make it non-existant. I am very willing to share this solution, but since it is of such great economic significance I would like to share it with you Mr. Buff. This problem, which is pervasive, would be solved immediately. All I ask is some type of renumeration for this solution. Just as you market a great product and expect fair renumeration--I thusly do the same.

BTW--utilizing my fix the ringlight is performing as I expected--SUPERBLY and I will be able to complete my assignments on time and without using other companies equiptment.
