I used my new 5D to take shots (pardon the pun) of Belfast murals. These murals are found on both sides of the N.Ireland conflict, but interestingly there are some murals in the Nationalist areas which involve wider conflicts such as American involvement in Iran and Iraq, and the Palestinian conflict.

Any tourist visting Belfast should attempt to visit these interesting and colourful murals. For balance (as I am a-political!) I will include murals from both sides:

The first one refers to the famous 'H' blocks which formed part of the Maze Prison where prisoners were kept during the troubles.

This is one of the most famous Nationalist murals on the Falls Road, depicting Bobby Sands, the first hunger striker to die in 1981.

Nationalists message to George Bush:

Note the street has been mockingly named 'RPG Avenue' after the RPG rocket launchers the IRA used against the Police and Troops in this area during the troubles:
