Help please! How low can one go (in price)?

I would like to make life easy for my two weeks' away soon, so am looking for THE-LOWEST-PRICED Decent, Lightweight, As-Small-As-Possible Camera.

I saw one today at 50 Euros; the nice saleslady whispered into my ear 'don't buy it' it's hopeless! when I told her that the picture quality had to be good as if it wasn't there was no point in taking photos! She suggested Optio E10, I think it was, at 139 Euros. But later, from what I read about it, on dpreview I think, it's not much good either...

How high will I have to go?
