legallity of taking pictures at a youth soccer league
Sep 24, 2006

I was recently asked by some parents to take pictures of their children at a soccer game. I was approached by the league president and was told that I could not solicit. I said that I was not soliciting but was taking pictures with the parents permission. He replied that I was not allowed to take pictures unless I had a contract to do so with the soccer league of which he was president. The games are played on city property which is open to the public. My question is, do I have a legal right to take the pictures or can the league forbid me. The president did ask me if I sold the pictures to the parents and this being the case he said that it was not allowed. Any help on this matter would be helpfull. One other thing, if I am legally in the right to take the pictures where can I find the law that would state my right? I am trying to avoid any problems.

Thanks again,

Felix
