10-22 plus which walk-around lens

I hear ya on what you can get instead of the canon 24-105. I went through that too.
I have the tam 17-50 and the 24-105. They compliment each other well.
My observations:
I wouldn't trade away the IS for anything out there.
If you can afford it, get the best glass for what you do most often.

[I think the 24-105 definitely fits the bill for all around, sharp, colorful walkaround.] I can't even recommend any other, after starting with the canon 17-85IS. It's a step up from that lens]

The 10-22wide + 24-105 is the best walkaround you could carry.
Get a cheaper prime for low light. Plenty of good ones.

Or if you don't mind carrying 3 lenses, alot more choices as you said.

Adding the 135L is a wonderful choice also. But your 24-105 will be on the camera at least 85% of the time. The 135L or the 10-22 won't.
