Help with drycreek printer profiles
Sep 2, 2006

I follow the drycreek method which specifically states that I need to uprez my photo to 400 dpi:
http://www.drycreekphoto.com/ ... ... using_printer_profiles.htm#NoriLaserRes

The lab I print at has a Noritsu 2901 and on the drycreek website they say all Noritsu 2xxx series must uprez photos to 400 dpi. Some folks on the forums told me I needed to print at 300 dpi.

I'm a little confused on which resolution to use. On the back of the 8x12 photo that I printed it has a value of 126.1/100.0, I uprezed the photo to 3200x4800 and increased the canvas size to 3220x4830 to compensate for the cropped edges.

Should I print at 400 or 300 dpi?

Also a little bit off topic, when sharpening the photo at the final output size, is there a rule of thumb of what Unsharp mask settings to use, or a way to see how the sharpening settings effect the final output.

Thanks for input.
