No 18-200 EFS IS consumer zoom?

IMHO, Canon is going to lose a big portion of the entry / vacation market segment (and do no kid yourselves, this is a big portion of the market) to Nikon if they do not introduce a 18-200 EFS IS zoom now.
In fact, I will buy a D80 or the D200 and the 18-200vr to take on vacations if there is no annoucement for a 18-200 efs IS lens. Who knows, if I like the Nikon, I might invest further in the Nikon system even though I am heavily invested in Canon and have used Canon for a long time (way before digital).
I like the quality / high end lenses as well as anyone, but I don't like to use bridge cameras or P&Ss on vacation, and I do not like to carry a bunch of camera equip around when seeing the world.
Will Canon have further lens annoucements, or have we seen it all for this round?
Regards, Fred
