Catastrophic failure of Lexar Pro 4GB 133X CF card . . .
Jul 29, 2006

Well, I'm royally pi$$ed !!!

With my two-month-old D200 turned OFF, and the write light NOT lit, I removed what had appeared to be a perfectly functional Lexar Pro 4GB 133X CF card and inserted it into the card reader built into my computer just as I have done dozens of times before.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch. "Drive not formatted!" Tried another computer. Same result. Put the card back in my camera. No response. It's dead. 250 images from a family reunion gone. Image Rescue program response, "No drive selected." Lexar live on-line response, "You can send it to us -- it'll take 3-to-6 weeks -- We can't guarantee anything -- we'll send you instructions via email" 30 minutes later, NO instructions.

I'm pi$$ed !!!

This is a brand new memory card that has NEVER been mistreated in any way being used in a brand new camera that has performed flawlessly in every other respect. Other CF cards are working properly in the camera and in the computer. This CF card refuses to be recognized in another camera or in other computers (two Intel-based machines running Win XP Pro and an Apple/Mac dual G5 running OS-X).

I'm royally pi$$ed !!!
