Thanks Bottles for hosting and and Katherine for co-hosting Challenge 122, a really interesting theme with many wonderful and creative entries. You did a great job of hosting and your comments were greatly appreciated by all!

The results of Challenge 122 can be viewed at the thread below:

WELCOME, KONICA MINOLTA PHOTOGRAPHERS!

Since we've all recently merged under the Sony brand label, you are invited to participate in this latest Challenge, in both the 'eligible' and 'exhibition' categories! Konica-Minolta made great cameras and many of us eagerly anticipate the products that will soon come from the merging of two technologies! So, with respect to this, we look forward to your entries that exemplify what KM cameras are capable of, and hint at what good stuff is ahead for all of us!

(PS - please have a look at the bottom of this message for links to the galleries and detailed entry procedures).

STF CHALLENGE 123 Theme: "The Blue Hour"

The challenge theme is the color blue. Blue objects, pictures taken in blue light, anything in which the color blue is dominating. Post-processing in blue is welcome but remember that the true value of the shot is to really be blue from the camera.

Challenge 123 is open from 27.07.2006, and will run until 7.08.2006, 9PM (GMT). As usual, everyone will then have two full weekends to obtain images. Good luck and above all, have fun!

The galleries are already open: http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/challenge_123_main

GUIDELINES

These guidelines are meant to help things run smoothly for all... and to serve as a handy reference to answer common questions. Thanks for reading thru all this stuff again:

  • Up to three (3) images are allowed in each of the two galleries (Eligible and Exhibition).

  • You can enter photos anonymously if you want to. If you do, please send me an email indicating your real identity. My email address is mcsaba@freemail.hu

  • Collaborating on entries is also welcome. An artist can be involved in up to three collaborative efforts in addition to the usual three single images allowed in each gallery.

  • Those who prefer to have critiques of their photos be more "critical", feel free to mark the image title with an asterisk ( ).

  • There are no restrictions on post processing your photos before submitting them.

  • Please put your name (identity choice) and a unique title on each of your image thumbnails. It really helps to keep voting problem issues to a minimum.

  • Please resize your images to no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side before uploading to pBase (can be larger if a panoramic image).

  • Please keep your questions and concerns posted in this thread for best response. Someone will address them as soon as possible.

  • Challenge time period will run from 27.07.2006, and will run until 7.08.2006, 9PM (GMT). Time tables will be posted in the galleries and a separate voting thread will be posted shortly after the end of the Challenge period.

  • Eligible images must be taken with a Sony or Konica Minolta digital camera and within the challenge time period. The winner of this gallery will host the next Challenge. All entries in Eligible should at least include the camera model used & the date indicating when the photo was taken. Attaching the "exif" data (if available) would be ideal. "Exif" data is a big help to a lot of viewers for a variety of reasons. Exhibition images can be obtained with any camera at any time. If you do not want to host the next Challenge, this is the gallery you should post your images to.

Thanks very much for your cooperation.

Everyone is encouraged to join in and have fun. The challenges are always about fun and sharing our common interest in photography. Please feel free to share any of your techniques as well. I'm looking forward to your enthusiasm and participation in challenge 123!

Cheers, MCsaba
