DS or wait for K100D
Jun 15, 2006

Hi all,

I know this may have been almost done to death elsewhere but I'm still confused. In the UK, the DS is available for under £400, the DL/DL2 for under £350. I'm almost convinced to buy the DS since I loved the handling and the viewfinder (especially for the prospect of manual focus). But SR would be so helpful since I love taking low light photogrpahy. Any idea how much the K100D might be in the UK when it comes out?

Should I learn how to take great photos without SR and then upgrade in a few years?

I'm into using my camera for street photography, portraits, a few macros, a few action and on safaris.

All I'm looking for is a solid piece of equipment, at an affordable price, so I can start my journey towards taking great photos - my Olympus C4000 is often frustrating with the shutter lag and low-light performace.

Any advice that I could use to make a final decision would be grateful.
