350D v 30D and lenses???
Jun 1, 2006

I have been researching the above comparison for some time, besides the grip (which is a big factor) I can’t really see many diffs on the spec’s that would make a diff to picture quality. The more I read the more conflicting views I seem to come across. From what I can tell, the body is important but not as important as the lens, therefore I am thinking about going for the cheaper 350D body (with its not so great grip) and using the money saved to go for better lenses. I take mostly outdoor pics, ranging from:

city shots (like New York)
landscapes (Petra in Jordan, great wall of China etc)
People shots (locals in markets or bbq’s etc)

Thinking about the following:

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens, or the 12-24 Tokina – I have not seen great results from either
Canon EF-S 18-85mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens – lots of mixed reviews again
And a longer range for later on

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated
