Does the H5 have a metal tripod socket?

Canon replaced the metal tripod socked from the S1 to a plastic one on the next generation - S2 and S3. They also removed the IR remote control feature that was available on the S1. What a putdown - telling the customers that these cameras should NOT be considered as semi-pro types.

Fortunately Sony kept the metal tripod socket on the H2/H5, but replaced the great looking metal chrome-plated mode dial with a plastic one.
Perhaps saved a dollar in cost.
