Canon repair is outta control again!!!!!! :(
May 15, 2006

Well, despite how careful I "always" am, I unfortunately snapped the plastic shoe off of one side of my Canon 420ex...on the bottom.
What's the going rate for a single plastic (easily replaceable) shoe for a Canon flash?
$103
Seems Canon is trying to get me to upgrade to a new and more expensive model by charging me a high repair cost as a dterrent.
I always wondered why the made the flash mount from plastic. A light bump from the wrong direction snaps it right off...now I know.
SCAM!
