Bandless D200's DO exist!
Apr 18, 2006

I bought my first one back in December and it had mild banding that after 2 visits to Melville, Nikon reduced to "short" almost imperceptible banding. Yes, the only time I see it is if I shoot a light bulb or lighting fixture at night and view it at 100%.

I ordered a second D200 last Friday from BestBuy and received it this morning. The serial number is 3053* and it is completely band free.
Maybe Nikon finally figured it out?

For those that might say that it just hasn't shown itself yet, I say this: I can produce it at will with my early D200 and I can't with this one. Same tests.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my experience for those that may be on the fence. It's a great feeling when you get a good one! Great camera!
