R1 Image File Numbering Question

So, I thought I'd get my shiny new (except for the finger prints on the LCD) R1 to number image files from where my old camera left off.

I took a picture with the R1. Renamed it to DSC48899.JPG. Cleared the 101MSDCF folder, put the renamed file in there and took some pictures.

SIGH

They came out numbered DSC08900, DSC08901, DSC08902. ARGH.

Is it me or is that 0 just not going to budge? Has anyone else managed to get this to work?

I have the File Number option on the Setup 2 page set to "Series".
