Intel Mac and Epson 2200 printer

Is that just me or it is common that the new Intel iMacs have problems with 2200 printer? I cannot make this Gimp driver work with PS - I cannot find a way to turn the color management off. Does anyone know how to make PS control the printing, not the printer driver? There is simply no such option in this new version. I am also not sure whom I should call - Apple or Epson.
