R1 useful for art repro?
Feb 28, 2006

I may have missed a thread on the suject but it seems to me that an ideal use of the R1 with its top-mounted LCD & 24mm lens aspect would be for reproducing artwork too large or too fragile to submit to a scanner. Although not "creative" photography in the conventional sense, this is a difficult process to carry off, requiring in the past special stands, cameras, etc.

Would appreciate any comments from those in this forum who use the R1 in this application. I'd be particularly interested in tripod/stand setup & relationship of the distance to & size of the object being captured.

Thanks in advance. [Hope there are more people doing this than using an R1 on a carpod;-)]
