Not hostile
In reply to MMuddler, Feb 26, 2006

They wern't at all hostile. What made you think it was?

It may look hostile form a distance, but this was a rally for peace and unity. It's interesting how becasue we (I'm assuming you aren't a muslim - correct me if I'm wrong) don't understand the slogans etc it looks hostile. But when I got up close I too realised it was quite the opposite. It was a protest against the recent waves of attacks in Iraq that seem to bring civil war a step closer.

Anyway, I was looking to get 'right in there' - there were many tourists with cameras and I wanted to ge somethign more intimate - hence the 20mm choice of lens. Ideally I would have a 15/17mm but they are to bulky/expensive.

So maybe the conclusion is I could have done a better job of trying to find friendly looking faces to show what it was all about..!
