Does this 'banding' thing occur in darker under-exposed areas too?
(I've seen terrible streaking effects with Canon dSLR pics that
are under-exposed and tried to repair later.) My old Nikon 990
was a gem to fix under-exposed pics in comparison... had no pattern.

Just asking. Will look into it...
