Kodak 1400 and Selphy

I am contemplating the Kodak 1400 Dye Sub and wonder if there are any suggestions about purchasing both the small 4x6 selphy (or equivelant) and a 1400.? I had the Canon Selphy demo'd for me today and found it amazing quality and speed. Should I put the money into the 1400 or get both? I like to print 4x6 as well to add to a photo album. I have read a lot about the 1400 as it will do 4x6 as well. At 2 bucks a sheet, thats pretty good. The 4x6 is at about 40c a pce, and thats excellent as well. I believe Canon has new ink and printers out and they seem pretty awesome. Are the three colours with the Dye Sub sufficient? Or does one put money into the Bubble jet printers by Epson? IDK a little rambling here.
