200mm prime vs. 70-300mm-IS

I'm beginning to see the advantages of a fast lens over an IS lens.... here's a couple samples of the 70-300mm-IS at f5 vs. a 200mm prime at f2.8. I was handholding and it wasn't not real bright outside, but even the 200mm prime at 1/200 sec. is sharper than the IS. Probably because the subject was moving slightly in the breeze.

If it was a little brighter, the zoom has some advantages (extra +100mm, extra -130mm, and IS on stationary objects, lighter)... I just might end up keeping both. This sure ain't no cheap hobby!
