help! sandisk flash reader crashes computer!

Hi folks, JUst got the new d30 today. I am trying to hook up my laptops usb card reader on my pent 3. Whenever I plug the thing in for the first time and ihe message comes up windows has found new hardware, UP POPS THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! I have tried disconecting all other usb hardware except for the reader and it makes no difference. This allso happens on my wifes HP (understandable) My IBM (not understandable) but the reader works fine on my compac laptop (go figure) Can sombody help me out here or recomend a good dependable reader?
