Anothe "dead" E500 - (No focusing or aperture)

My E500 that I've just had for a week died on me today for about 5 hours or so. I had just switched lenses from the 40-150 to the 14-45 (camera was still on) when the camera stopped focusing. Auto or manual focusing made no difference. The aperture readout was dashes, just like on a shutter priority program. I tried both lenses numerous times to no avail. Eventually after 5 hours it started to work again and now seems OK.
Is this typical behavior for an auto focus camera? Can cold weather aggravate the problem? I don't think it is a locking pin problem as I always hear it click.
I did read the other thread by Mr Dobson about his dead E500, but this just went away on it's own I think. Anyways it freaked me out quite a bit today and got me p.o.'ed since there was actually some nice sunshine outside for once.
Thanks for any input,
Todd.
