Which camera for paintings, drawings please...?

I'm having trouble with the A620 - not enough sharpness, contrast or saturation, at least for photographing my artwork, small watercolours, B/W ink drawings and paintings, close up without flash. So, to cut a long story short, does anyone out there have an idea of which camera does this the best? I need to make up to A3 size prints of the shots and I use Photoshop and a 2000P Epson Printer (if that information helps?!)...People who need a camera especially for this seem so few and far between but I'm just crossing my fingers that some such person reads this and can help!
