Is Sony Deleting Nightshot Feature?

I see that Sony has not put the Nightshot feature in it's new cameras. Is this a cost-cutting decision or is Nightshot just not popular? I like Nightshot but no other manufacturer has it or something like it. I'd like to see Sony modify Nightshot so that you can select shutter speeds and apertures.
