Any pros happy with their current job situation?

How do you find the current job market in photography compared to around 10 years ago? Has it become more difficult to sell your digital images today, compared to the "old" film days? Have you been forced to reduce the price of your images because of a growing competition?

I have got the impression that many pro's today can not make a living from photography alone. Unless you are a well known, and well established in this business, you might need a second job to be able to make a living. I guess that the digital age has made it much easier for any "amateur" with excellent photographic skills to produce pro images, and therefore pushing down the price of images produced by the pro's. After all, the clients are interested in the end result, and not if you are a pro with a diploma, or a self-taught amateur.

I would appreciate your thoughts on that.
