maybe a little over exposed?

Hi, I didn't see your exif info, but maybe your ISO was a little too high for the light exposure. Or try a slightly higher shutterspeed. A few look ok, like the red leaves. It looked kind of weird though with the road shot with all the grass. Not good contrast or clarity at all. Strange.
I found this good advice:

maybe something here is helpful:

Keep at it. Sometimes the first day of shooting is a disappointment until you get used to the lens. I know that happened to me 3 times. But if its not performing easily and correctly for you in a few tries, I'd take it back. I did that with a Tokina, the guy said there was nothing wrong with the lens, and I knew better. Besides this hobby is expensive and lenses should not be complicated, but consistent.
