EOS 1Ds Mark II - I made a big investment

I paid top dollar for my 1Ds Mk II. Today I had to send it in for warranty repair (the control wheel on the back ceased to function). It cost me $107 to send it UPS from NY to NJ. The bulk of the cost was the $8000 insurance I placed on the package.

Is there anyway I can get compensated from Canon? I'm just a little perturbed as might be expected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
