2nd 70-200/2.8 with unsharp part

In July, I bought a new 70-200/2.8. On my D2X, I had an unsharp part on the left side of the picture. The right side is very sharp. So I sent the lens to Nikon for repair. After many hours of work, they told me, that they can't fix it. They gave me an other 70-200/2.8, until a new lens will arrive at Nikon. I can't belive it. Also this lens is very unsharp on the left side of the picture, and that with f8.0.

I am really wondering, if Nikon has 70-200/2.8 lenses, which work without a problem.

Now my question to you: How are your 70-200/2.8 working? Do you have similar problems with this lense?

By the way, the D2X doesn't have a problem. I tested this camera with other lenses and it works very fine.
