Have any of you heard of...

...PseudoGrey ( http://r0k.us/graphics/pseudoGrey.html )? I posted this question on FM's B/W Vision forum, but I though maybe some of you might have heard of it. If so, do any of you have a good plugin that can actually convert 16-bit images to this format? I'm try the free version of Pixie Dust (see link above), but I would rather be able to convert a 16-bit greyscale image to this format as opposed to a color image that's interpreted into greyscale for me.
