4990 Pro Scanner - Need Help

Hi Everyone,
I have no advanced experience with film scanners but intending to do it now. Epson is now offering this flatbed film model with 4800x9600 dpi, 48bit, 4.0Dmax. The price is very attractive, i.e., 1/3 of the price of a Nikon film scaner. Do You believe I can get similar results with this Epson as I would with the Nikon? I thank You very much for Your help.
