2200 vs 8750 (colourgeek)
May 24, 2005

I am a graphic artist as well as a photographer, and want a printer that can do both.

I have the opportunity to purchase these two printers for roughly the same price and I am really on the fence. Hopefully someone can sway me in the right direction.

I want a printer that can produce stunning Black and Whites, but also handle a colour job well. Is the B&W of the 2200 up to the snuff of the much touted 8750? (I've heard that the Epson R1800 produces comparable B&W to the 2200, which makes me thihk not.)

Speed is not much of a concern, nor the cost of consumables.

A slight advantage goes to the 2200 because of its moisture resistance which would come in handy occasionally when producing graphics.

PS: A note to Colourgeek; You suggest that the 8750 created photos that really dont look like "inkjet" prints. Do the 2200s prints look like "inkjet" prints?

-Thanks, Luke
