Best (safe) way to sell a lens?

I have a very popular Sigma lens that I'd like to sell.But I want to make sure the transaction is safe (for both parties).I've used eBay for years,and generally had good luck,but not sure for a lens.

Is there a better place to sell than eBay?Are the fred Miranda forums safe.Any advice on the particulars would be greatly appreciated!
