windy outdoor shoot w/umbrellas...
Just had a two light outdoor shoot yesterday and it was really sunny and really windy.
My ideal spot to shoot was a shaded corner of the building. As that spot felt like hurricane Andrew redux, I had to shoot in direct sunlight where it was a little less windy. Unfortunately, once I finally got enough weight on the light stands to prevent them from tipping over (yet again)...my umbrellas then went turtle on me and blew out backwards. Funny now..but not at the time.
Ouside of moving indoors, or rescheduling, any tips out there on how to prevent the blow out of the umbrellas on windy days? Having an assistant would somewhat work...but they can't cover both rigs.
Any tips would be appreciated.
