any pros shooting without a bracket?

Hey there,

Am looking for some bracket feedback for weddings... Borrowed a stroboframe Pro-T for a couple of weddings. Didn't like it at all. Was too tall. Hinge kept loosening, kept hitting my arm. Pain in the butt to remove to change batteries, etc. Thought about trying their Press-T, as I read it isn't as tall.

Then last week saw a friend's round/rotating bracket she bought at WPPI that looks interesting. http://www.JonesFlashBrackets.com
Does anyone own one of these?

I've digged in the archives for info on Gary Fong's lightsphere. On his site, on the demo clip, it looks as if, if one has a flash that rotates or swivels, since the diffuser is symmetrical all the way around, you can simply flip your flash to the side and shoot w/out a bracket?

Any tips on brackets, or ways to shoot w/out one would be appreciated,

Thanks,
Mary
