I just purchased this lens last week and I love it! I used to own AF Tokina AT-X 80-200/2.8 but I sold it due to softness wide open (unusable with 2x TC) and some other annoyances. No regrets. IMO, Sigma is a much better lens - faster focusing, sharp wide open, and has a bayonet-type hood. The latter may not seem important, but I was quite irritated by a screw-on hood on Tokina.
