50 1,4 or 85 1,8?

Hello, I want to buy an objective for portrait, 50 mm1,4 or 85 mm1,8. They are from using on the 300D. They seem two optimal lens, the 85 have better length but the 50 is more 3D and renders the photos alive.
What lens i must buy?
