Sensor: 350D vs 20D

So, i know the 350D has a new sensor...
One is 8.5 mp... with 8.2 mp. (20D)
and... 8.2 mp... with 8.0 mp (350D)
is size... the 20D is a litlle bigger than the 350D?
So my question is.. Has the 20D sensor been cut off for the 350D..?
Or is it a brand all new sensor....
In a matter of noise i don't think that the 350D has more than the 300D that would be a step back so i don't Canon would do that...I must have the same amount seen on the 20D...the same as nothing
