Noise Ninja profile test for 20D at 3200 ISO

I generated the noise profiles for Noise Ninja with my 20D by photographing their color target at ISO 800, 1600, and 3200 using the 100-400 lens set at 400 mm. As an initial test I then applied the noise reduction to the target photos. A 4 square area of the color target is given below at all three sensitivities for before and after treatment. Unfortunately the resizing for web makes it hard to see the real differences, but here are the test photos anyway.

Its amazing to me how little noise the 20D shows at these ISO levels since I used a Minolta A2 until recently. On it, anything above ISO 200 was very noisy.

I conclude that the 20D at ISO 3200 with modest Noise Ninja noise reduction will give good bird pictures under low light conditions. Oh joy!
