Is Photoshop Album obsolete?

With the advent of Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0, has Photoshop Album become redundant? I've read several comments that the new Elements incorporates "most" of the functionality of Album.
Does anybody have any better info? Is there any way to transfer Photoshop Album catalogs to Elements 3.0? I use Photoshop Album and enjoy it for my simple needs. Now I'm wondering if I have a dead end product.
