In reply to JasonL, Aug 24, 2004

My A75 was made in Malaysia, should I return it? Actually I've bought 1 A70 and 3 A75's since March and all my friends are happy all over the world with them!

It's not the equipment that fails...

Happy shooting to all.

You misunderstood me. I never said there was anything wrong with
being a simple point and shooter. Ask anybody here, and they will
tell you the same thing: the S500 is a better camera than the
A80/95 for people who just like to point and click without fiddling
with manual controls and settings. The S500 really is a dedicated
P&S camera.

And there's nothing for me to be sour about... while you're wasting
all your time and energy returning all those cameras, I've been
taking hundreds of great pitctures with my A80. Sounds like
somebody else is being being sour now.

And oh yes, do I ever love being stuck with my A80 ... you've got
that right! Not too shabby for $230... how much did you pay for
your S500 and A95?

Well, I returned 2 A80 b/c they didn't match my expectations and
S500 broke in 30 mins of use. Would you keep a broken digital
camera? I don't know why there is anything wrong with being a P&S
shooter. Did you start out your digital photography as a
professional? Where the camera was made does not matter to me, is
the image quality makes the difference. It just happened that the
Chinese ones were not as good as Japnese one. However, as a
Chinese-A80-defender like youself, you don't have to get excited or
sour just b/c I exercise my consumer right to get what I want. I am
glad that you're happy with your A80 and then stick to it. You
don't have to force the whole world to agree with you that how
wonderful A80 is just b/c you own one.
Good luck being stuck wity your A80.

Wow, is that like 4 A80's and 1 S500 that you returned within the
last month or so?

For a simple point-and-shooter like yourself, I really think the
S500 would have been a better camera for you.

Also, since you are famous on this forum for being extremely
paranoid about Canon cameras made in China, you may want to
reconsider your purchase of the A95: (Note those 3 little words at
the bottom of this particular A95)

Time to put another camera return notch in your belt?

By the way, if I'm not mistaken, that S500 of yours with the E-18
error was made in Japan, wasn't it? Just checking ...

THE TAX A LITTLE STEEP, HAD TO PAY $28 FOR TAX. BUT STILL A GOOD
DEAL, THANKS! HOPE IT WILL GO THROUGH.
STILL WAITING MY DEALER TO REFUND MY S500, WHICH DIED ON ME AFTER
30 MINS OF USE DUE TO INFAMOUS E18 ERROR
