Tweet If the second day of ATP I’ll Be Your Mirror being ‘postponed’ wasn’t evidence enough that all was not well then the distinct lack of any people for all but 2 of the artists was pretty hard to miss. I’d headed down early to catch ‘The Field’, an electonic artist I’ve been listening to [...] show less

Tweet Well, definitely the smallest gig I’ve shot in a while. No pit, two colours of light and an artist I’d never heard of. Still, such is the joy of new clients – you don’t get to lull in your comfort zone! It was actually great to get back into the kind of venue where [...] show less

Tweet For some reason, before the gig I was scanning James’ wikipedia page and much to my abject horror, ‘Sit Down’ was first released in 1989. This made me feel old. I should not have worried. Never fully rewarded with the success they deserved – Chesney Hawkes denied them the No1 chart spot for Sit [...] show less

Tweet Yes, he is dressed as a goth pope. No, I don’t know why. In fairness, that is pretty much the only thoughts I had about the music on offer from the three warm up shows – I’ve no idea why people listen to it. Weirdly though, the pope-fronted ‘Ghost’ (including a slightly creepy ‘good [...] show less

Tweet Apparently the were big in 1999. Other than that, not a great deal to say. Just one of those gigs I felt distinctly underwhelmed. Average tunes, average lighting and average stage presence.     show less

Tweet Seems Mr E has taken a leaf out of the Mogwai book of blagging tracksuits! Although he went one step further and seemed to have had his entire band grow similar beards and have similar haircuts to him, which was novel. Still a brilliant band, and such a brilliant demonstration of the merits of [...] show less

Tweet What should have been an amazing gig didn’t quite end us as being one – although the band were not really to blame. Firstly, when a band want to keep photographers to the side of the pit (not entirely unreasonable) then this significantly reduces the amount of space available. Therefore, common sense dictates you [...] show less

Tweet As ever the NME Tour offers a great chance to see some bands I already know and some I’d never seen before. The first two bands, Peace and Palma Violets – the former a slightly psychadelic take on the Vaccines, the latter a Libertines-esque mix of fiery rock and roll and melody, were both [...] show less

Tweet Epic is a word I seem to be using alot lately. And it’s an entirely apt description of how Deftones were this evening. I must admit it’s taken me a few years (forgive my indie ways….) to quite ‘get’ these guys, but in a brilliant venue (rather than a festival stage) I finally could [...] show less

TweetAs a photographer, one of the guilty pleasures I’ve often indulged in is the coffee table book. From Corbijn to Bailey, I’ve got books of film set stills, studies in light and even Bill Eppridge’s book of Bobby Kennedy throughout the sixties. (Who says photography and politics can’t interact!) Anyway, they are all books based [...] show less
